adb sync 가 대체 무엇을 할때 쓰는 것인가요?

command line에서 adb 관련 설명을 보자면

<localdir> can be interpreted in several ways:

라고 나오긴 하는데, 실제로 와 닿지가 않네요.

테스트 해보려고 해도 아규먼트를 잘못주는지 계속 help page만 나오고요.

관련해서 검색해봤더니, 주로 펌웨어 업글할때 쓰더라고요.

adb push (다운받은 Radio 압축파일이름).zip /sdcard/update.zip

adb shell sync

host->device 로 자동으로 싱크를 맞춰주는 것이라면, 

혹시, Local PC에 특정 디렉터리와 Phone 내의 특정 디렉터리 간의 Sync가 가능한지 궁금합니다.
